Ilana Braverman is the co-founder and chief operating officer at Greener by Default, an organization working to transform institutional food systems for a more sustainable future. A compelling voice in the climate-food dialogue, Ilana shared her expertise in the TEDx talk, “Moving Beyond a Hamburger Default World.” She has extensive experience in sustainable food systems, previously serving as the director of outreach for Better Food Foundation and as a program manager at Farm Forward. Ilana holds a master’s degree in animals and public policy from Tufts University, and a bachelor’s degree in natural resources and environmental sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Through her work, Ilana continues to bridge the gap between sustainability, food systems, and policy, driving meaningful change in institutional dining practices.
