Ground Transportation

Transit

It takes approximately 45 minutes by MAX light rail train to travel from the Portland International Airport to downtown Portland. From the airport baggage claim area, look for signs for “Light Rail Tickets.” You can purchase a MAX train ticket ($2.50 to downtown) and get information about the train schedule in the airport lobby. The train runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from the airport.

To travel downtown from the airport, catch the MAX Red Line towards “City Center & Beaverton TC.” Exit the train at the Pioneer Square North stop which is located at SW Broadway and SW Morrison in downtown Portland.

To get to the Portland Hilton and Executive Tower from that stop, walk along SW 5th Avenue towards SW Yamhill Street. Turn right onto SW Yamhill Street and then turn left at SW 6th Avenue. The Portland Hilton and Executive Tower will be located on your right at 921 SW 6th Avenue.

Car Service

If you would like to book private car service to/from the airport or a local tour, we recommend Northwest Concierge Services. The price from the Portland International Airport to the Portland Hilton (downtown Portland) is $53/direction, plus tip. Please call Lisa Strasburg to reserve service: (503) 866-0100. Cash is preferred.

Taxis, Lyft & Uber

Taxis, Lyft and Uber all operate from Portland International Airport. Depending on the time of day, it will take approximately 30-45 minutes to get from the airport to downtown Portland and fares will range from $25-$40. Click here for a list of Portland taxi companies.

Airport Shuttle

Blue Star Airport Shuttle offers door-to-door service from Portland International Airport to the Portland Hilton and other downtown hotels. Shuttles leave from Island #2, outside of airport baggage claim every ½ hour between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. and from the Portland Hilton between 4:20 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Their rates are $14 one-way or $24 round-trip per person.
