Animals in the Global Marketplace: Science, Society & Industry examined how global economic systems, technological advances, and industry practices affect animals and animal protection law.

Sessions addressed food production and global hunger, the role of animals in society, animals in research and technology, and efforts to reduce industry impacts on wildlife. The conference concluded with a keynote by Joyce Tischler on the case for legal rights for animals.
