Stefan grew up in Seattle Washington. From a young age Stefan has been deeply interested in nature and wildlife. He volunteered at the Woodland Park Zoo prior to working in their education center as a summer instructor of classes on biodiversity and conservation. He graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Political Science.
Stefan is currently one of the Co-director of SALDF at Lewis & Clark and has also served as the Pro Bono Coordinator for the group. The focus of his legal education has been Environmental, Administrative, and Constitutional law and he has worked to apply those fields to helping both domestic and wild animals. This summer Stefan worked as a law clerk at the Center for Animal Law Studies researching the constitutionality of banning the sale of depictions of animal cruelty.
Stefan hopes to pursue a career in wildlife and habitat protection.
