Saskia Stucki (MLaw) is a research assistant at the University of Basel’s Faculty of Law. She graduated from law school summa cum laude and is currently working on her doctoral thesis on fundamental rights for animals. Her area of research comprises the critical analysis of existing animal protection laws and the underlying legal status of animals, the assessment of the legal capacity of animals to be subjects of rights and the development of a feasible concept to implement animal rights into law. Saskia Stucki has also authored an article in this field (edited volume forthcoming). Besides her academic interest in animal law, Saskia has been actively involved in animal rights issues for nearly a decade.
